Papillon Nursery

We aim to offer education and play opportunities that are both fun and challenging in a safe, happy and comfortable environment. We will promote the dignity, privacy, choice, safety, potential and diversity of all users and staff. This is achieved through access to provisions of a very high quality in a child-centred, stimulating environment. We aim to offer care to children of pre-primary school age (6 weeks – 5 years). The nursery will be open all year round except for 2 week closure at Christmas & also on Easter Monday of each year. All closure will be notified in advance. Hours of operation will be 8.00am-5.30pm. Session prices and other information are available in the nursery handbook. We will achieve these aims in the following way:

1. The nursery will employ competent and confident staff that have appropriately completed the recruitment process and register with the SSSc.
2. The nursery will provide a balanced range of activities, taking into account of the ages, development needs, interests and pattern of attendance of each child.
3. The nursery will contribute to its local community and will develop links with organisations. This will assist the nursery to foster children’s learning with regards to the community.
4. The nursery will demonstrate a caring and considerate attitude towards the children, promoting their self-esteem, confidence and independence.
5. The nursery will encourage parents and children to contribute to the aims of the nursery and will promote positive behaviour at all times including promoting the general health and well-being of each child.
6. Extend children’s previous experiences and take into account of their individual needs.
7. The nursery will operate a non discriminatory policy to all service users.
8. We welcome children and families from all cultures, backgrounds, disabilities and beliefs.
9. Ensure all stakeholders are aware and share the same vision and goal for the nursery.
10. The nursery will operate an evaluation scheme as a means of ensuring continuous improvement and will involve all stakeholders in this process.
